Concert featuring A Good Rogering with support from Crobot and Black Chapel at the Come and Take It Live venue.
A Good Rogering play Come and Take It Live on Thursday, November 5, with Crobot and Black Chapel opening. It's an Austin band, so this is a hometown show for them.
They've been around a while—vocalist and guitarist Skunk Manhattan started the project back in 2008. The sound is an eclectic mix of hard rock and progressive experimentation, and they describe it as blending the heavy power of Megadeth and Mastodon with the versatility of Faith No More and Type O Negative. If you're familiar with those names, you can probably hear where they're coming from: the heavier side of metal meeting a more flexible, song-oriented approach.
Their debut album, Long Overdue, came out in 2010, and their 2022 release Systematic Paralysis is cited as a pinnacle of their craft. Over the years they've shared bills with some big names in rock, including Skid Row, Marty Friedman of Megadeth, Steven Adler of Guns N Roses, and Uli Jon Roth of Scorpions. That's a fair amount of ground to cover, and the bill on November 5 keeps that spirit going with Crobot and Black Chapel filling out the night.
