A rock night featuring 90s and 2000s classics performed by Rhinosaur at the Speakeasy venue.
Rhinosaur takes the stage at Speakeasy on Friday, July 24, for a night dedicated to the rock of the 1990s and 2000s. It's a straightforward premise: one band playing through two decades of guitar music that defined the era.
The set is built around the biggest names of that run, and the list is long. You'll hear Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Green Day, Nirvana, Radiohead, Soundgarden, The Offspring, Blink-182, Weezer, and Toadies, among many others. It's a broad sweep that pulls from grunge, pop-punk, and alt-rock, so the night moves between the heavy side of the 90s and the more melodic sounds that followed.
Rhinosaur handles the whole thing, and the playlist covers a lot of ground. The grunge heavyweights like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains sit alongside the pop-punk of Green Day and Blink-182, and the more melodic alt-rock of Weezer and Radiohead. It's a wide range of sounds from the same general era, and the set draws from across that whole spectrum.
