21+ Crafty Happy Hour

Make at Rosie is hosting another 21+ Crafty Happy Hour on Monday, July 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, and this month's project is a DIY brick stamping workshop. The whole evening is part of their monthly Happy Hour & Craft-Along series, which they describe as leaning on childhood nostalgia to open up artistic creativity. This time, the nostalgia comes in the form of Lego bricks.

The session is built around DIY Lego brick printing: you arrange flat Lego tiles and shapes on a base plate, roll ink across them, and press the whole thing onto paper, greeting cards, or notebooks to leave a unique, textured print. You can work from a creative prompt or go entirely freestyle. It's a low-pressure night of making and connection, and if you've already got a project you're working on—knitting, crochet, embroidery, whatever—you're welcome to bring it along and work on it while you're there.

For context, Make at Rosie is Austin's makerspace, built for women, nonbinary makers, and allies as a safe, inclusive space to create, learn, and build community. They've got the tools and room for woodworking, laser cutting, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, sewing, paper crafts, and textile arts, so it's a good spot to get a feel for the place if you've never been. The 21+ format means BYOB drinks and snacks are welcome, and all the materials for the stamping workshop are provided. It runs from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Monday, July 27.
