A farewell weekend bash at 1972 Pub with discounted drinks and women's sports viewing, with founders expected to attend on Sunday.
1972 Pub is closing its doors, and they're spending the final weekend saying goodbye with a four-day bash from Thursday, August 27, through Sunday, August 30. It's a farewell to a 'Guad spot' that had a brief but impactful run on the Austin campus, so if you've spent any time around the university lately, you know the place.
The drinks are the main draw here: 50% off liquor and $5 drinks throughout the weekend. They're also showing women's sports, so there's a reason to hang out and watch a game while you're at it. If you've been meaning to drop in but never quite got around to it, this is the last chance to catch the pub before it's gone.

The founders, Debra and Marlene, are expected to be there on Sunday, so that's the night to stop by if you want to thank them in person. The pub is at 2530 Guadalupe St., right in the heart of the Austin campus. The bash runs Thursday through Sunday, August 27โ30, with 50% off liquor and $5 drinks.
