Spooky NooKaraoke

Spooky NooKaraoke takes over The Nook on Piedmont Park on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30, from 9 PM to 1 AM. It's a Halloween edition of the NooKaraoke series, which mixes karaoke with a costume contest and hands out prizes for the best costume and the best song combination.

If you've been to NooKaraoke before, you know the drill: you pick a song, take the mic, and go for it. The Halloween twist adds a costume contest to the mix, and the prizes aren't just for the best outfit on its own. There's a separate prize for the best combination of costume and song, so the more you lean into the character you're playing, the better your odds. It's as much about the performance as it is about the singing.

Because it runs across two nights, you've got a couple of chances to get your act together. Thursday, October 29, is the first night, and Friday, October 30, follows it. Both go from 9 PM to 1 AM, so there's plenty of room to watch a few sets before you step up yourself. If you're not the singing type, you can still come for the costumes and the crowd.
