Monthly original country music night in East Atlanta Village with three local Georgia acts, headlined by Cody Bolden & The Roadhands.
Roadhand Roundup returns to 529 on Wednesday, November 4, for another night of original country music in East Atlanta Village. It's a monthly show presented by Chili Bean Productions, billed as the scene's original country night, and this edition pairs local Georgia artists with touring country and Americana talent. The night is sponsored by Fontis Water, which supports the country music scene in Atlanta.
Three acts share the bill, and the organizers draw on the city's own influences when booking. The first slot goes to Atlanta's Keefe Klug, who channels John Hiatt, Mac McAnally, and Zac Brown. Following him is Mary Kate Farmer, coming in from North Georgia with a sound that draws from Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Ashley McBryde. The night closes with Cody Bolden & The Roadhands, an Atlanta band compared to 49 Winchester, Blackberry Smoke, and Pony Bradshaw. Between them, you'll hear three different takes on the genre—one leaning toward the singer-songwriter tradition, one toward modern country, and one toward the heavier, Southern-rock side of things.
