A free family-friendly organ concert featuring spooky music by Sarah Hawbecker and Katie Nail, with costumes encouraged.
PipeScreams comes to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Friday, October 23, for a half hour of spooky organ music. Organists Sarah Hawbecker and Katie Nail are the two behind the console, and they've billed the set as a family-friendly program, so it's open to all ages. Costumes are encouraged, too.
The concert is part of the Redeemer Concert Series, which the church presents through its 'Friends of Music' program. The series brings in artists from around the world to play in the church's Sanctuary and Sims Atrium, and this particular evening is free to attend. You can take it in as part of the church's larger 'Monster Mash' event or just stop by for the music on its own.
It's a short set—about 45 minutes total—so it's an easy one to fit into a Friday night without committing your whole evening. The music is meant for all ages, and since costumes are encouraged, it works whether you're coming with kids or just want an excuse to dress up for the weekend. The church is at 731 Peachtree St, right in Midtown.
