Weekly over-21s stand-up comedy open mic night at The Laughing Skull Lounge in Midtown Atlanta.
The Laughing Skull Lounge runs its Open Mic Night every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8 PM, so if you're looking for something to do on a weeknight in Midtown, you've got three chances a week to catch it. The club is at 878 Peachtree Street, and it's built around this one room that sees a wide range of comics cycle through. You'll find people crossing stand-up off their bucket list, folks sharpening their wit for the corporate world, and others testing the waters for a potential career. Because of that, the sets run the full spectrum: fledgling jokes from people getting their first few minutes on stage alongside seasoned pros who use the room to work out new material.
That's the thing about an open mic — you're seeing the work in progress. Some of it lands, some of it doesn't, and part of the draw is watching a comic find their footing in real time. It's a different energy than a headliner's polished set, and since the room draws from so many different backgrounds, you rarely know exactly what's going to walk up to the mic. The club calls it the most sought-after comedy open mic on the planet and a global epicenter of comedic talent, and it's a central part of how they operate.

Beyond the open mic, the club runs a six-week stand-up comedy class that ends with a graduation show, where students perform a five-to-eight-minute set. If you're the one who wants to get on stage, you have to email the club in advance to get a spot. Entry is restricted to over-21s, and tickets are $15, which includes the service fee and sales tax. The open mic goes at 8 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 878 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta.
