Annual Halloween dance party at the Center for Puppetry Arts with trick-or-treating, a kids' DJ, walk-around puppet characters and a mask-making station.
Monster Mash is back at the Center for Puppetry Arts on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 3 PM. It's the museum's annual Halloween dance party, and it takes over the Love Family Atrium at 1404 Spring St NW in Atlanta. The day is built around trick-or-treating, with a kids' DJ keeping things moving and walk-around puppet characters appearing throughout the building. All the Monster Mash activities are included with either a museum or show ticket, so you can work your way through the party and the rest of the museum at your own pace.
There are two new additions this year. The first is a mask-making station where you can drop in at any time during the day and make your own mask to take home. The second is a puppet-led story time. The museum frames these around the idea that masks have been at the heart of puppetry, storytelling, and cultural celebration for thousands of years, so the making and the listening go together. Between the two, there's plenty of room to just hang out and let the kids run with it.
