21+ night of Glimmer with a gathering of noise and alternative acts, including Badvril, Grebe and Ritual Day, at The Drunken Unicorn.
Glimmer headlines a four-band bill at The Drunken Unicorn on Tuesday, October 20, with Badvril, Grebe, and Ritual Day filling out the rest of the night. It's presented by Nobody's Booking, and the whole thing leans toward the louder, noisier end of the alternative spectrum.
Badvril is the one coming from the farthest away. A San Francisco-based noise-pop project, they call their sound "backwoodsrock," a name that points back to where it started: singer Becket Schroeder grew up in rural Eastern Washington and left home as a teenager. He wrote the first Badvril songs in a Berkeley parking lot alongside drummer and world yo-yo champion Tessa Piccillo, whom he met after they both posted online the same day looking for a band. Since forming in 2022, they've toured the U.S. and played their album In Heaven live for inmates at Washington State Prison.
Grebe is an Atlanta collaboration of Kade Whitlark, Logan Neely, Miles Wakeman, and William Gunnin, who describe their sound as boot-gaze, shoe-core, and bird-bath. Ritual Day works the heavier side of alternative music with softer moments mixed in, and they're coming off their latest EP, Overview Effect, which came out in September 2025.
