Volunteer orientation and training to help greet and direct visitors during the Garden Lights, Holiday Nights holiday light display.
Atlanta Botanical Garden is holding a volunteer training session for Garden Lights, Holiday Nights on Wednesday, November 4, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The training is at the Garden, 1345 Piedmont Ave NE, and it's the first step for anyone who wants to help out during the holiday season.
If you've been to the Garden in December, you know the drill. Garden Lights, Holiday Nights is their big annual tradition, now in its 16th year. It's the one that brings in millions of colored LED lights and displays across the grounds, and it's a local staple for a reason. The Garden also has some bragging rights this year: in 2023, it took the title in ABC-TV's The Great Christmas Light Fight Heavyweights Edition.
As a volunteer, you'll be one of the faces people see when they arrive. The role is straightforward: greeting visitors and directing them as they make their way through the lights. It's a way to be part of the season without having to do anything more than be welcoming and helpful to the crowds. To take part, you have to attend this introductory orientation and commit to five shifts over the course of the season.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Atlanta and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The full display runs nightly from November 14, 2026, through January 10, 2027, staying open until midnight, so there's a long window to fit in those shifts. If you're interested, the training is November 4, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 1345 Piedmont Ave NE.
