Free lunchtime live audio drama performance by the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company, featuring three tales including works by Edgar Allan Poe.
Atlanta Radio Theatre Company is back at the Rialto Center for the Arts on Wednesday, October 21, for another installment of Feed Your Senses, their free lunchtime series. The show runs from 12 PM to 1 PM in the Rialto lobby, and it's open to the public with complimentary refreshments while supplies last.
This time around, they're putting on three tales. First is Never Bet the Devil Your Head, an Edgar Allan Poe story adapted by William Alan Ritch. Then comes Fallen Angel, Episode One: Queen of Hearts by Ellie Cook. The third is That Night on the Raft by Brad Strickland. It's a mixed bill, so you get a few different stories in a single hour.
If you've never seen them, the company has been around since 1984, and they've spent more than 40 years specializing in immersive live audio drama. The whole thing is performed right in front of you, blending stage acting with live sound effects and original musical scores. It's a bit like watching a radio play being made in real time, with the sound and the music happening on the spot rather than coming from a recording.
