Book signing and author talk with Susan Huckle, moderated by Dr. Beverly J. Armento, about her memoir.
Susan Huckle is coming to Village Books on Sunday, November 1, for a talk and book signing around her debut memoir, The Earth Is Flat?! And Other Things My Mother Taught Me. The evening runs from 5 PM to 7 PM at 213 Mitchell St SW in downtown Atlanta, and it's part of her national book tour.
The book is a memoir of growing up as a homeschooled Pentecostal girl with evangelical-turned-flat-earther parents. Huckle describes it as a "laugh-out-loud and vulnerable MOMoir," and it's exactly what the title suggests: a look at a childhood shaped by those specific, fringe beliefs. It came out on Earth Day 2026, hit #1 as a New Release, and The Santa Barbara Independent called it "unputdownable."
On the night, Huckle won't be going it alone. Atlanta author and educator Dr. Beverly J. Armento will moderate the conversation, and the talk is set to cover beliefs, parents, and the process of writing the book. It's a chance to hear the story behind the memoir directly from her.

Before the book, Huckle worked in front of the camera—she's appeared on Jane the Virgin and The Mindy Project and hosts L.A. This Week. She also holds a B.A. in Journalism and Dramatic Art from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master of Sustainable Tourism from ASU. The Atlanta stop is one of several dates on her national tour, so if you've been following the book since its release, this is when she'll be in town. Ticket reservations are required, and the event runs from 5 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, November 1, at Village Books.
