11th edition of the Greek film festival with feature films, shorts and a grand finale party.
The Atlanta Greek Film Expo is back at Tara Theatre this October, returning for its 11th year. It's the longest running Greek film festival in the Southeast, and this edition runs from Thursday, October 15, through Sunday, October 18. All the films are screened with English subtitles, so you don't need to know the language to follow along.
The lineup features six current Greek and Cypriot feature films and several shorts, with a Grand Finale Party that brings in live Greek music to close things out. The official opening night on Friday, October 16, centers on Hold Onto Me (Κράτα Με), Cyprus's Oscar selection and winner of the Audience Award at Sundance. That screening includes a Q&A with director Myrsini Aristidou and a red carpet reception, so it's a good night to pick if you want to hear from the filmmaker in person.
If you're not doing the whole thing, the schedule gives you a few ways to dip in. Thursday is a preview night, followed by the official opening on Friday, with more screenings on Saturday and Sunday. You can buy tickets for individual films, multi-film packages, or full Expo passes if you want to see everything. Prices range from $10 to $120 depending on how much you're seeing.
