Atlanta rock artist Ad Astra celebrates the release of her debut album 'Autopsy of an Archangel' with Schmooze and Naomi. at The Drunken Unicorn.
Ad Astra is playing The Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, October 28, for the release show of her debut album, Autopsy of an Archangel. She's sharing the bill with Schmooze and Naomi., with the whole night presented by Speakeasy Promotions.
Ad Astra is an Atlanta-based rock artist who describes her sound as a blend of the cinematic nostalgia of dream pop and the grit of alternative rock, pairing haunting melodies with stories of vulnerability and feminist rebellion. Her lyrics touch on family trauma and growing up in the conservative South, and this show is the release party for Autopsy of an Archangel, so it's the first time the full record is out in the world. Schmooze draws on the raw authenticity of the grunge movement and the experimental spirit of alternative music, fronted by Cameryn Carr on vocals, Jack Weatherby on guitar, bassist Colin Thomasson, and drummer Dallas Wiggins. Naomi. is an Atlanta-based independent singer-songwriter, model, and creative known for a dreamy, electro-pop sound and local hits like "Closr" and "Relapse."
Between the three, you've got a night that moves from dream pop and alternative rock through grunge and electro-pop, all from artists working right here in the city. Ad Astra's set is the main feature, and since it's the album release show, it's the first chance to hear Autopsy of an Archangel live.
