Touring stage adaptation of the Peanuts Christmas story, with the Peanuts characters played by actors who sing and dance, conducted by Nathalie Stutzmann.
A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage comes to Atlanta Symphony Hall on Wednesday, December 9, 2026. It's a touring stage adaptation of Charles M. Schulz's Christmas story, and the whole thing is built around the music of Vince Guaraldi. The plot follows Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they put on their own Christmas play and discover the true meaning of the season along the way. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is presenting it under Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann.
If you're expecting a full orchestra on stage, though, you should know how this one actually works. There's no orchestral component to the performance; the Guaraldi score is played live by a three-piece band on stage. And the Peanuts characters aren't played by costumed characters—they're played by actors who sing and dance. It's a touring production, so it's the same show that's been traveling to different cities, rather than something put together specifically for Atlanta.

The performance runs about 90 minutes, and that includes a 20-minute intermission. It's recommended for all ages, with children aged 4 to 12 among the usual audience, so it works as a family outing if you've got kids in that range. The show starts at 7 PM, and the doors open at 6 PM, which gives you plenty of time to get settled before it begins.
