Mason Hill - World So Wonderful Instore Performance & Signing

Mason Hill is playing an instore performance and signing at Assai Records on Saturday 24 October, starting at 5pm. It's a double-header of a sort: he'll play a set in the shop and then stick around to sign records for anyone who wants one. The whole thing is built around his album World So Wonderful, which is the record he's touring.

An instore is a different thing from a proper gig. Instead of a stage and a PA, you've got the band playing right there among the shelves, with the audience standing around them. It's a small, close-up way to hear a record, and since the signing follows on, you'll get to talk to him after he's finished playing. If you're already a fan, it's a good chance to get a copy of World So Wonderful signed; if you're new to his work, it's a way to hear the new material and meet the person behind it in one go.

Assai is one of Aberdeen's proper record shops, and this is one of those events they host right in the store rather than booking a venue. It's a Saturday afternoon slot, so it fits into a day without taking over the whole evening. The performance comes first, and the signing follows on, so you'll get both the music and the chance to say hello.

Tickets are £20, down from £40, and they include priority entry, which means you'll be at the front for the performance and the signing. It all kicks off at 5pm on Saturday 24 October at Assai Records in Aberdeen.
