Halloween screening of Disney's 'Hocus Pocus' at The Craig Centre, with foyer games, sweets and popcorn, as a fundraiser for Cats Protection.
The Craig Centre for Performing Arts is screening Hocus Pocus on Friday 30 October, just a few days before Halloween. It's a community fundraiser run by Cats Protection's North East, Yorkshire & Scotland Community Fundraising Hub, so every ticket and every activity on the night goes to local Cats Protection volunteer teams. If you're already a fan of the charity, that's a nice reason to go; if not, it's still a decent way to spend a Friday night in the city.
The film is Disney's Hocus Pocus, the one with the three witches brought back to life in Salem. It's a family favourite, so it works as a night out with kids as much as it does with friends. Under-16s are welcome as long as they're with a parent or legal guardian, which keeps it open to a fairly wide age range.
There's more to it than just the film, though. Before the screening starts, the foyer fills with Halloween activities: sweets, popcorn, and cat-themed games to keep you occupied while you wait for the lights to go down. It's the sort of thing that turns a simple cinema trip into a bit of an event, and since it's all for the fundraiser, the more you get stuck into, the better.

Doors open at 6:30pm, with the screening starting at 7:00pm, so you've got half an hour to get your popcorn and work through the foyer games before the movie kicks off. Tickets are £8, plus a £1.38 booking fee, and if your plans change, you can get a refund up to seven days before the event. The Craig Centre is on Schoolhill, AB10 1FE, right in the heart of Aberdeen.
