Touring Scottish musical comedy-horror about a chaotic hen getaway at a woodland cabin, with original songs and Scottish wit.
Hen Night Horror is playing the Tivoli Theatre on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October, both nights starting at 7:30 pm. It's a Scottish musical comedy-horror written by Fraser Boyle and Ali Cleland, staged by Five Brick May Productions in association with Imagine Theatre, and these Aberdeen dates are part of its 2026 UK tour.
The story follows a booze-filled hen getaway at a woodland cabin that descends into chaos as the bridesmaids go to war, secrets bubble over, and something far worse lurks in the shadows. It's built on adult humour, strong language, belting original tunes and sharp Scottish wit, and critics have described it as 'utterly unhinged in the best possible way' and 'genuinely wonderful theatre', with some comparing it to a campy, adult pantomime for those who enjoy dark, gross-out and raunchy humour. It's also picked up an Emmy Award (Crime for Britbox).
The cast features Dani Heron as Lydia, Hannah Howie as Donna, Jennifer Neil as the bride-to-be Amanda, Alan Orr as Mr Jefferies and Matthew McKenna as PC Walters. With the music written for the show, it's as much a musical as it is a comedy-horror, and the Scottish wit runs through the dialogue and the songs alike.
