Stand-up comedian Alan Davies brings his UK tour 'Think Ahead' to the Aberdeen Music Hall.
Alan Davies is back on stage at the Music Hall on Wednesday 21 October, his first UK tour in ten years. The show is called Think Ahead, and the description puts it in a nutshell: a late middle-aged comic who thinks he's Marty McFly. If you've followed his work, that's a pretty good starting point for what to expect.
Most of us know him as a permanent fixture of British television. He's the eponymous hero of David Renwick's long-running Jonathan Creek and a long-standing panellist on QI; his own talk show, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, ran for seven seasons. He's a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, actor, writer and TV personality, and for a lot of people, he's just a familiar face from the telly. But stand-up is where he started.
He began his comedy career in 1988, was runner-up in the 1989 City Limits New Act of the Year contest, and was named Time Out's Best Young Comic in 1991. He made his network TV debut on Tonight with Jonathan Ross in 1992, and later won Best Actor in a Drama at the Monte Carlo Television Awards for his 2001 role as Bob in Bob and Rose. Think Ahead marks his return to the stage after a decade away from touring.
