The York Textile Artists are back with their annual exhibition at York Cemetery Chapel, running across Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October. It's a two-day show, so you've got the whole weekend to work around.
Among the work on display is Fragments of Imagination by Nicola Harper. The group's exhibitions change theme every year, and they've previously shown under titles like In Spiral, which drew on the Arts and Crafts style, and Talking Textures. This year's selection will follow that same pattern, with each artist working to a shared brief.
It's not just a gallery show, though. The artists are on hand to chat with visitors, and there's a pop-up shop running alongside the exhibition. If you're into the process as much as the finished pieces, it's a good chance to talk to the people who actually made them. There's also a collaborative piece raffled during the show, with the proceeds going to the Stroke Association.
