One-off car boot sale event at York Racecourse.
York Racecourse is hosting a car boot sale on Saturday 8 August. It's a one-off event, so it's not part of a regular run — just a single day for selling and buying from the back of cars.
If you've got a boot full of things you no longer need, this is your chance to clear them out. It's the classic car boot format: you pitch up, spread your gear across a table or the grass, and spend the morning haggling with people who've come to pick up a bargain. It's as much about the social side as the selling, with a good few people turning up just to wander through the stalls and see what's on offer.
And if you're not selling, it's a proper day out for a bit of hunting. You'll find the usual mix: old books, kitchenware, toys, clothes, and the kind of random bits and bobs that only turn up at a car boot. It's a good spot to pick up something you didn't know you wanted for a few quid, and since it's a one-off, it's worth getting there early if you're after the best of the lot.
