Annual rally with around 400 classic vehicles, lorries, buses and motorcycles from 17 car clubs, serving as a charity fundraiser.
The York Historic Vehicle Group are back at York Racecourse on Sunday 13 September, their annual rally now in its 48th year. It's a big one: around 400 classic vehicles are expected on the day, with 17 different car clubs taking part. That's not just cars, either — there'll be lorries, buses and motorcycles alongside them, so it's a fair bit more than a standard car show.
It's a fundraiser as well as a rally, with the money raised each year going to various local charities. Organiser David Walker says late entries usually run high, and last year's gathering at the racecourse drew more than 400 vehicles and raised thousands of pounds for charity. Food and drinks are sold on the day, so you can make an afternoon of it without having to head back home for lunch.
