A premier guitar event in Yorkshire featuring new and vintage instruments, live music, workshops, and a prize draw, suitable for all skill levels.
The York Guitar Show takes over the York Racecourse on Sunday 15 November, from 10:00 to 15:30. It's put on by Mojo Guitar Shows, who describe it as one of Yorkshire's premier guitar events, and it's aimed at everyone from beginners just starting their guitar adventure to experienced players, collectors and fans, as well as trade professionals and exhibition enthusiasts.
The day covers just about every corner of the guitar world. There are new, vintage and pre-owned instruments to buy, sell and trade, and a dedicated acoustic area for those who prefer that side of things. Live music and demos run throughout the day, so you can hear things being played rather than just looking at them on a stand. There's also a prize draw in which a guitar and other guitar goods are given away.
On the performance side, Connor Thomas is on the bill, and Orrin Meads will be running a cigar-box guitar workshop, which is a good shout if you've ever wanted to see how those things are put together. Anne Gair from Cole Clarke Guitars is also listed. Between the buying and selling, there's plenty to actually do, so it works as a full day out rather than just a quick browse.
