A festive plant-powered celebration with over 80 vegan stalls offering food, gifts, fashion and homewares, suitable for all ages.
The York Vegan Christmas Festival returns to the York RI Sports Centre on Sunday 13 December, with more than 80 vegan stalls under one roof. It's a plant-based Christmas market in the middle of the city, so if you're looking for gifts or just want to see what's out there, this is where you'll find it.
The stalls cover a fair bit of ground. There's plant-based food to eat on the day, cruelty-free gifts, sustainable fashion, skincare and homewares. With over 80 of them, it's a one-stop shop for plant-based living rather than a few scattered tables. The whole day is family-friendly, so it's as much for bringing the kids along as it is for ticking off your Christmas list.
Behind it is Vegan Events UK, run by Victoria Bryceson. She says that since 2017 the organisation has been bringing the best of vegan living to communities across the UK, and describes the festival as a one-stop destination to discover plant-based products and support small family-run businesses. That's a good summary of what to expect: a lot of small producers in one room, rather than a few big brands.

It runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm at the York RI Sports Centre, which is right next to York train station. Standard entry is £5, and there's a VIP ticket for £15 that gets you fast-track entry and a vegan goody bag. Under-16s get in free if they're accompanied.
