A week of discounts and special offers across York's attractions, including family adventures, heritage sites, river cruises, walking tours, outdoor activities and food experiences.
York Attractions' Week runs from 17 to 23 August, a week where attractions across the city put on discounts, extras and exclusive experiences. It's a good time to see more of York for less, with the offers covering family adventures, heritage, river cruises, walking tours, outdoor activities and food and drink experiences.
One of the participating venues is York Castle Museum, which is currently in the middle of its Summer at York Castle Museum season, running until Sunday 6 September. The whole summer is built around the Victorian York Gala, an annual tradition for 60 years, alongside the Swinging Sixties. On Kirkgate, you'll find live Victorian-inspired street performances; over on Sixties Street, there's live music from the 1960s. There are also family creative workshops, historic talks about Kirkgate and York Castle Prison, interactive trails, retro games and sensory experiences inspired by York's chocolate-making heritage. All those summer activities and experiences are included in general admission.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in York and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

For the week itself, the museum is running a £40 family saver that admits up to two adults and four children aged 5 to 16, and it covers unlimited visits for 12 months from the date of your first visit. If you're planning to head back more than once, that's the one to go for.
