A hands-on workshop led by local florist Joanna Keely where participants learn to make a Christmas wreath to take home.
Joanna Keely is running a Christmas wreath workshop at The Bar Convent on Wednesday 3 December, and it's one of those things that's easier to do with someone showing you how than trying to figure it out on your own. Keely is a local florist who runs the Joanna Keely Flower School, so she's used to teaching this rather than just making wreaths for clients.
It's a hands-on session where you make your own wreath to take home. The good thing about a wreath is that it doesn't have to stay in one place: you can hang it on your front door, use it as a festive table centrepiece, or set it up as an Advent ring. The workshop is led by Keely herself, and she'll talk you through the process step by step, so you don't need to have any experience with flowers to get one together.
Space is strictly limited to 20 places, which keeps the group small enough that you'll actually get her attention if you're struggling with a particular bit. It's held in The Atrium at The Bar Convent, in the heart of York, so it's an easy one to get to on a weekday evening.

Doors open at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start, and the whole thing takes about two hours, so you're out by nine. It's £50 per person, which covers the step-by-step tutorial and all the materials you'll need, so you don't have to bring anything with you except yourself.
