The Shepherd Brass Band partners with Aardman to bring the Academy Award-winning short film to the big screen with a live score, followed by a programme of iconic family film music.
The Shepherd Brass Band are playing Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers at the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall on Sunday 11 October, with two screenings to choose from: 2:00pm to 3:00pm and 4:00pm to 5:00pm. The band is teaming up with Aardman to bring the Academy Award-winning short back to the big screen nearly 30 years after its original UK release, and they'll be playing along to the picture with a live score.
If you've forgotten the plot, it's the one where Wallace and his faithful dog Gromit get a pair of techno-trousers that attract the attention of a mysterious penguin lodger and a cunning criminal plot. The band provides the music live in the room, so you're hearing the score as it happens rather than from a recording. Beyond the screening, they'll play a lively programme of iconic family film music, with several soloists among the ranks.
It's a fundraiser for The Snaith School PTA, and you're welcome to bring your own food and drink, with tables provided. The day also serves as a showcase for the wider Shepherd Brass Band organisation, whose five ensembles range from the beginner Brass Roots group up to the Championship-level Senior Band.
