Tom Stade brings his new stand-up show, Tom Stade Rules, to the YO1 Radio Live Lounge on Friday 16 October. It's a Canadian comic who's spent plenty of time on British stages, and this one comes straight from the Edinburgh festival, so it's fresh out of the Fringe run.
He describes the set as taking on the absurdities of modern life, and the themes he works through are the kind of things we all notice but rarely put into words. There's rebellion and responsibility, the tension between the old ways and the new, and the unwritten social codes we all follow without thinking. He also gets into cultural divides, identity, and marriage, so it's a broad sweep of territory rather than one single topic. He's known for a certain kind of delivery — a mix of infectious charisma and an incisive, uninhibited wit that doesn't hold back.
