The Yorkshire Halloween Festival

The Yorkshire Halloween Festival takes over Parliament Street from 22nd to 30th October, hosted by Made in Yorkshire. It's a family-friendly celebration of creativity and interactivity, and it runs every day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm across the nine days.

The festival brings together a large group of local artisans, with a following of local makers running workshops built around Halloween and autumnal themes. The whole thing is centred on an inclusive Sensory Tipi, an accessible sensory environment that offers both pre-bookable and drop-in creative sessions for children. If you're planning to take the kids, that's probably the best place to start.

There's a fair bit to keep in mind before you head down. Bookings are required for the Sensory Tipi workshops as well as the maker workshops, so if there's a particular session you've got your eye on, you'll want to get it sorted in advance rather than turning up and hoping for a spot. The drop-in sessions in the Tipi are a different story, though—those you can just wander into when you're there.

With the festival running from 22nd to 30th October, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily at Parliament Street, you've got plenty of room to pick a day that works for you. Just remember to book those workshops ahead of time.
