Afternoon of champagne tasting with wine expert Emma Moore, with paired snacks and nibbles.
Emma Moore is hosting a champagne tasting at York Distillery on Sunday afternoon, 27 September. It's a guided session led by Moore, who goes by the name The Wine Lady and is a WSET-educated expert, so you'll be tasting with someone who knows her way around a bottle. The glasses come with paired snacks and nibbles to keep you going through the afternoon.
If you haven't been, York Distillery is a boutique, speakeasy-style working distillery tucked away off Skeldergate in the grounds of Middleton's Hotel. It's the home of York Gin, and while spirits are the main business, they run a fair bit more than that from the site: gin and spirit tastings, making experiences, and cocktail masterclasses. They also host wine and beer clubs, and the odd one-off like sketch-and-sip or plant workshops, so this champagne afternoon fits right in with the kind of things they do.

It's not a one-off, either. The tasting runs on Sunday afternoons, with dates on 27 September and 8 October, so if you can't make this Sunday, there's another chance a couple of weeks later. It's a relaxed way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the city, with a professional guiding you through the glasses and some food on the side to match.
