Discover the underground adventure of the Yorkshire Dales this summer at Stump Cross Caverns.
Summer at Stump Cross Caverns runs from 18 July to 7 September 2026, with the caverns open throughout the summer months. It's a stretch of nearly eight weeks, so if you're around the Yorkshire Dales during that window, you've plenty of time to fit it in.
The whole thing is built around the caverns themselves. You head underground to explore the scenery of the Yorkshire Dales from the inside, rather than looking at it from the top. The caverns are the main feature here, and the summer season is when they're open for you to walk through and see them. It's a good way to spend a day out if you're in the area, especially when the weather's warm and you'd rather be somewhere cool.
It's not a one-off event, so you don't have to rush. The season kicks off on 18 July and runs right through to 7 September, giving you a couple of months to pick a date that works for you. Whether you're visiting for a weekend or just passing through, you can head down and see the place whenever it suits.

If you're planning to go, just keep those dates in mind: it opens on 18 July and closes on 7 September, so you've got the bulk of the summer to make it happen.
