SpeedQuizzing at The Three Legged Mare

SpeedQuizzing is back at The Three Legged Mare on Wednesday 29 July, with the session hosted by Mike Brooke. If you've never come across it, it's a bit different from your usual pub quiz: instead of scribbling answers on a piece of paper and passing them up, you use a keypad to enter your answers. It's faster, and the scoring usually rewards how quickly you get to the right answer, so it's as much about the speed as it is about what you actually know.

Mike Brooke runs the night, and the format is built around teams of up to six players, so it's one of those things that works best when you've got a decent group together. You can pull together a few friends or a couple of different circles and make a full team out of them. The prizes are a mix of drinks and cash, so there's a bit more on the line than just bragging rights.

It's a mid-week one, which makes it an easy shout for a Wednesday night out in the city. The Three Legged Mare is on High Petergate, right in the heart of York, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from the centre or just around the corner. It starts at 8:00pm, which gives you plenty of time to get your team sorted and a round of drinks in before the first question goes live.

Entry is £2.00 per player, so it's a cheap way to spend a Wednesday evening. With teams of up to six, you've got plenty of room to bring a crowd and split the knowledge across the table. The session kicks off at 8:00pm at The Three Legged Mare, 15 High Petergate, York, YO1.
