SpeedQuizzing at The Nags Head

SpeedQuizzing is back at The Nags Head on Thursday 10 September, with the night hosted by Melanie, better known as MellyMooo. It's a quiz night that swaps the pen and paper for a faster pace, and it's one of those mid-week things that works as well as a proper night out.

If you've never done it, the format is pretty straightforward. Instead of scribbling answers on a sheet and handing it in at the end, you answer on the fly. It's a bit more immediate than your standard pub quiz, and the speed element means it keeps moving rather than dragging out. The night is fronted by local personalities, and the prizes go to the room along with beer and pizza to keep things going alongside the competition.

Teams are capped at six players, so it's easy to pull together a small group of friends without needing to recruit half the office. The session is for over-18s, and it runs from 8:00pm to 11:30pm, which gives you plenty of time to get through the rounds without it eating into your whole evening.

It's £2 to play, and you'll find it at The Nags Head on Heworth Road in Heworth, YO31 0AD. So, if you've got a few friends who fancy a mid-week quiz, gather your team and head over on the 10th.
