SpeedQuizzing session with an 8pm start at The Keystones.
SpeedQuizzing is coming to The Keystones in York on Thursday 13 August. It's a quiz night that swaps the pen and paper for a smartphone, so you'll need your phone charged and ready to go when you arrive.
If you've never done a SpeedQuizzing night before, the format is pretty straightforward. Instead of scribbling answers on a sheet and handing it in at the end, you enter them directly into your phone. The 'speed' part comes in with the scoring: the faster you get the right answer in, the more points you bag. It takes the guesswork out of the marking and means you find out where you stand almost as soon as the round is over, rather than waiting for the quizmaster to work through a stack of papers.
It's a team game, so it's one of those nights that works best when you round up a few friends to split the load. You can play as a pair or build a bigger group, and the points are tallied up across the rounds to see who comes out on top. Because it's all handled on your phone, there's no faffing about with pens that don't work or trying to read your own handwriting halfway through the night.
