SpeedQuizzing at Social 8

SpeedQuizzing is back at Social 8 on Monday 17 August, starting at 8:00pm. If you've never come across it, it's a bit of a departure from the pub quiz you're used to: instead of pen and paper, everyone uses their phone to answer, and the faster you get the answer in, the more points you score. It's as much about the speed as the knowledge, which changes the whole feel of the night.

Mike Brooke is hosting this one, and he's a regular on the circuit, so you know the evening is in safe hands. The format is straightforward — you'll be asked a series of questions, and the quicker you react, the higher you climb the leaderboard. It's the kind of thing that works just as well with a small group of friends as it does if you're turning up on your own and finding a team on the night.

Social 8 is right in the thick of things at 13 High Ousegate, YO1 8RZ, so it's easy enough to get to whether you're coming from the city centre or just around the corner. It's a Monday night, which is a good time for a quiz — something to break up the start of the week rather than taking up your weekend.
