SpeedQuizzing at Brew York

SpeedQuizzing is coming to Brew York on Sunday 19 July, with the session running from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. It's one of those quiz nights that works a bit differently from the pub classics you're used to: instead of pen and paper, you use your phone to answer the questions, so the faster you get them right, the more points you rack up. It's a bit more about the reflex than the slow burn, and it keeps the whole thing moving.

This particular session is hosted by Peter Martini, one of the local quiz personalities who run these events around the city. If you've been to a SpeedQuizzing night before, you'll know the drill: you're playing against the clock as much as the other teams, and the phone-based format means no more arguing over whether your handwriting is legible or if you've accidentally written the wrong answer in the wrong box. It's a faster, more direct way of doing a quiz, and Martini will be the one calling the shots throughout the evening.

There are prizes on the table, too, with beer and food vouchers up for grabs for the winning teams. If you're heading down with a group, it's worth remembering that you're playing for more than just the bragging rights. It's a good excuse to get a few people together on a Sunday evening and see who actually knows their stuff when the clock is ticking.
