Philippa Perry: Shrink Solves Murder

Philippa Perry is at the Creative Centre on Wednesday 15 July to talk about her new crime novel, Shrink Solves Murder. It's a bit of a pivot from what most of us know her for, so if you've only come across her work in the non-fiction section, this is a good chance to hear about the shift.

Perry is an artist, psychotherapist, and TV and radio presenter, best known as the number one Sunday Times bestselling author of The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read and The Book You Want Everyone You Love To Read. She's also a familiar face on screen, having appeared in series like Cracker, Jonathan Creek, and Patience. Shrink Solves Murder is her first foray into crime fiction, and the psychotherapist's chair sits right at the centre of it.

The story follows Patricia Phillips, a psychotherapist who becomes convinced that her patient, Henry Clayton, was murdered rather than having committed suicide. Alongside her friend Pritchard, she sets out to uncover a killer hiding in the village. It's a setup that lets her bring that professional background into a mystery, and the talk will be about the book and the process of writing it.
