Oktoberfest at Pavement Vaults

Pavement Vaults are running their own take on Oktoberfest from 19 September to 4 October, so it's a good stretch of time to fit in rather than a single date. It's a themed run that puts the German beers and food front and centre for a few weeks, and since it's on for over a fortnight, you can pick a day that actually works for you.

The food is the main thing they're building around: a special menu of smoked Bratwurst hotdogs with different toppings, Schnitzels and Sauerkraut. It's a proper Oktoberfest spread, and it's served daily from 12pm to 9pm, so it works as a lunch spot just as well as a dinner or a late-afternoon stop. If you're heading in for the beer, there's plenty of food to go with it.

On the beer front, they've got Weihenstephaner Festbier as the lead, with the usual suspects like Veltins and Furstenberg unfiltered alongside it. It's a solid line-up of German brews, and with the food running all day, you don't have to time your visit around a specific session.

Pavement Vaults is at 2 Piccadilly, right in the centre of York, so it's easy to get to from wherever you're coming from. The whole thing runs from 19 September through to 4 October, with food served daily from 12pm to 9pm.
