York Minster is hosting a Minster Mash-Up: Harvest Festival on Saturday 3 October, a service for young people and families marking the Festival of Harvest. It's held in the Lady Chapel, with the Cross Keys Choir performing.
The Mash-Up is part of the Minster's wider programme of special services for children and families, which run throughout the year and follow the seasons of the Christian calendar. Each one is built around its own set of interactive opportunities: craft workshops, sensory activities, music, storytelling and worship. This particular edition centres on the Harvest Festival, so the music and activities will be tied to that theme.
The Cross Keys Choir provides the music for the service, and the whole thing takes place in the Lady Chapel rather than the main nave. It's designed for families to come along together, with the interactive elements — the crafts, the sensory work, the storytelling — running alongside the worship.
