Michael Starring Ben

Michael Starring Ben plays the York Barbican on Sunday 12 December 2027, with the show starting at 7:30pm. It's a theatre production fronted by Ben Bowman, who's billed as the UK's ultimate Michael Jackson tribute star. The whole thing is built around him looking and sounding like the King of Pop, and he's honed the routine to the point where audiences believe they're watching Michael Jackson himself.

It's not just a one-man show, though. Bowman is supported by a live band, and the production leans on them, along with dazzling costumes and Michael's iconic dance routines, to run through the greatest hits of Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5. You'll hear Beat It, Billie Jean, Thriller and Man in the Mirror, among others.

There are a couple of practical things to keep in mind before you book. Under-14s have to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, so if you're bringing the younger ones along, make sure you've got an adult sorted. Also, the production isn't associated with or endorsed by the Michael Jackson Estate, which is worth knowing if you're looking for an official thing.

So, Ben Bowman and his live band at the York Barbican, Sunday 12 December 2027, 7:30pm. The venue is on Paragon Street, York YO10 4NT.
