Matt Bragg brings his new stand-up show, Stand Up Comic, to the York Barbican on Friday 7 May 2027. It's playing in the YO1 Lounge, and the show starts at 20:00.
Bragg has been around for over a decade, working his way through the UK circuit and playing to audiences worldwide. He's shared the stage with Ricky Gervais, Matt Rife, Stephen Merchant and Harry Hill, and this tour comes on the back of a sold-out run across the UK and his debut special, which he released in 2025. Stand Up Comic is his new show, and it's part of a national tour that runs from March through May 2027, with York being one of the stops.
If you're not familiar with his work, the best way to describe it is deadpan delivery paired with carefully crafted material and sharp observations. He's earned a fair bit of praise from people who know the scene: Ricky Gervais calls it "classic observational stand-up, delivered with effortless style", Rob Beckett describes him as an "excellent comedian", and Chortle puts him in a very specific bracket: "Jack Dee’s world view, with Frank Skinner’s voice, all wrapped in a Mod’s fashion sense."

Tickets went on sale on Thursday 2 April, and there's a booking fee on top of the ticket price. One thing to keep in mind: it's strictly 16+, so it's not one for the younger ones. The show starts at 20:00 in the YO1 Lounge at the York Barbican.
