A major seasonal shopping event with over 250 artisan stands, local food producers, fashion retailers, and chef demonstrations at the York Racecourse.
The Living North Christmas Fair returns to York Racecourse from 19 to 22 November 2026. It's one of the city's biggest seasonal shopping events, and it's back for four days across the November weekend.
Inside, there are over 250 stands. The bulk of them are artisan designer-makers, so you'll find plenty of handmade gifts, homeware, beauty products and fashion accessories. Local food producers are a big part of it, too, alongside fashion and gift retailers. The organisers describe the food hall as the largest in the region, and it's one of the main draws if you're after local delicacies rather than just a few bits and bobs.
It's not all shopping, though. There are chef demonstrations running throughout, so you can watch someone work through a recipe rather than just browsing the stalls. Between the food hall and the demonstrations, there's a fair bit of the day that's about eating and drinking as much as buying.
