Dare to Dream Jr

Dare to Dream Jr runs at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, with both performances starting at 7:30pm. It's a musical revue performed by the students of PQA York, so the whole thing is on the young people of the city rather than a touring cast.

The show follows a group of aspiring Imagineers who discover that every dream has the power to inspire, connect and change the world. Around that, the revue pulls from Disney's songbooks, mixing the older classics with more recent favourites. You'll hear songs from Frozen, Encanto, The Lion King, Moana and Coco, so it covers a fair bit of ground across the different eras of Disney music. It's billed as a joyful family production, and the cast is made up of PQA York students, which means it's a local youth production rather than a professional company coming in from elsewhere.

Because it's a revue, the focus is on the songs and the performances rather than a single linear plot, and the Disney titles mentioned are just a few of what they're working with. It's a family-friendly one, so it's a good shout if you've got younger ones in the house. Tickets are £16.00, and both nights start at 7:30pm at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
