A festive wreath-making workshop led by florist Kymm Queen, with a two-course seasonal lunch and mulled wine at The Abbey Inn at Byland.
The Abbey Inn at Byland is hosting a Christmas wreath-making workshop on Friday 4 December, from 9:45am to 12:45pm. It's led by award-winning local florist Kymm Queen, who runs Queen's Flowers, and it's paired with a two-course seasonal lunch by Executive Chef Callum Leslie. You'll start with festive mulled wine on arrival, then spend the morning making your own wreath before sitting down to eat.
Kymm Queen's floral work has appeared in Downton Abbey, Bridgerton and Sherlock, so you're learning from someone who's worked on some pretty high-profile sets. The workshop is designed to get you through the making part and into the lunch, so you'll leave with a finished wreath and a full stomach.
The venue is a nineteenth-century historic inn turned cosy country pub with bedrooms, overlooking the ruins of Byland Abbey in North Yorkshire. It serves seasonal menus by Chef Director Tommy Banks, alongside hand-pumped local ales and seasonal cocktails. The pub was named Sustainable Pub of the Year at the Gastro Pub Awards 2025 and Best Sunday Roast in the U.K. by The Good Food Guide in 2024, so the lunch is a proper part of the day rather than an afterthought.
