A hands-on masterclass for families to make festive chocolate treats like truffles and lollies at York's Chocolate Story.
York's Chocolate Story is running a Christmas Family Masterclass on Saturday 28 November, a session for families to make festive chocolate treats together. You'll be making truffles and lollies, so it's a good one to bring the kids along to and get something edible out of the afternoon.
The masterclass is held at York's Chocolate Story in King's Square, YO1 7LD. If you've never been, the place is an immersive tour of the city's chocolate heritage, and a good reminder of why York is known as the 'Chocolate City'. The tour is led by entertaining guides and follows chocolate from its ancient origins in Central America right through to Yorkshire's cobbled streets, passing the families behind the Chocolate Orange and the world-famous KitKat. You taste your way through history and watch a live demonstration by an expert chocolatier before getting stuck in yourself. The masterclass sits alongside the attraction's other hands-on chocolate-making experiences, and there's a café and gift shop on site as well.

It's a family-friendly afternoon, and the session lasts about an hour and a half. Tickets are £37.50 for adults and £37.50 for children. The venue is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00, though it closes from 24 to 26 December and on 1 January, so keep that in mind if you're planning around the holidays.
