Woodland adventure sessions for children with storytelling, craft and campfire activities led by The Woodland Adventure Company.
The Woodland Adventure Company is bringing its children's woodland sessions to Carlton Towers Estate on Thursday 13 August. It's a day split into two distinct sessions for different age groups, so you'll want to pick the one that fits your lot.
The morning slot is Elf Rocket Adventure, running from 10:30am for the 2-to-6s. The afternoon is Bow & Arrow Adventure, starting at 1:30pm for the 7-to-11s. Both run for 90 minutes, and both are led by Adam from The Woodland Adventure Company, who's spent 15 years working with storytelling and outdoor adventures. He describes the whole thing as a way to get kids away from screens and back into the woods, where they can climb, build, explore, cook over a fire, and make things from what they find around them. It's as much about the outdoors as it is about the activities, with a focus on connecting with nature and the people around you.

The sessions take place in the woodland on the Carlton Towers estate, a short five-to-ten-minute walk from The Stables Café. Each one wraps up with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows around a campfire, so there's a bit of a reward at the end of the morning or afternoon. It's £25 per child, and since the two sessions are aimed at different ages, you can bring the younger ones in the morning and the older ones in the afternoon if you've got a mixed brood.
