BYO - new style! is at rise @ bluebird on Friday 23 October, the latest in the venue's themed BYO series. The theme for this one is homes and places: guests bring songs connected to where they've lived, where they've come from, or the places that stick with them. It's a night built on the songs people bring to it, so the setlist depends on what turns up on the night.
rise @ bluebird is the evening arts space at Bluebird Bakery, 201 Acomb Road in Acomb. It's a room that regularly hosts live music, spoken word, art exhibitions, theatre, comedy and family-friendly nights, alongside a pop-up restaurant. It's an independently run creative hub driven by local community support, and this night is part of the themed BYO series they run there.
The evening also features STEW, an event that brings people together to share a warming stew while raising funds for grassroots groups in York. So you've got the music and the stew running on the same night.
