The 17th edition of the popular 10K road race, with mini and junior runs, starting near York Racecourse.
The Arla Protein York 10K returns to Knavesmire Road on Sunday 2 August, the 17th edition of the race. It's a flat and fast course, built for personal bests, and it takes you right through the heart of the city. You'll run past the ancient city walls, Clifford's Tower and the Minster — landmarks the organisers say few race courses in the country can match. It's open to all abilities, welcomes wheelchair users and is pitched as much to beginners as to experienced runners.
The race started in 2009 and has grown into one of Yorkshire's most popular road races, often described as one of the country's most beautiful city runs. It's a family affair, too: the York Mini and Junior runs happen on the same day, and the event village brings together food, drink and partner charities. Run For All, the organiser, runs a zero-tolerance policy on public urination and donates all clothing discarded at the start.
