Adults-only festive chocolate-making masterclass to create truffles, lollies and customised bars.
York's Chocolate Story is running an adults-only Christmas chocolate masterclass on Saturday 28 November, and it's part of a wider festive programme that keeps going right through to 23 December. The session itself takes an hour and a half, and you'll spend it making truffles, lollies and your own customised chocolate bars, so you'll leave with a fair bit to take home.
If you haven't been before, the venue is in King's Square, and it's an immersive tour of the city's chocolate heritage — the very reason York is known as the 'Chocolate City'. You follow the history of chocolate from the rainforests of Central America to the cobbled streets of Yorkshire, with the story of the city's famous chocolate-making families and their most iconic creations along the way. The Chocolate Orange and the world-famous KitKat both make an appearance. The experience combines interactive exhibits, tastings and the chance to make your own chocolate, including decorating your own chocolate lolly, plus a live demonstration by an expert chocolatier, with a café and gift shop to finish. The masterclass sits alongside that wider Christmas programme, and the venue opens daily from 10:00 to 17:00, closing on 24, 25 and 26 December and on 1 January.

It's an 18+ session, so it's a proper adults-only one rather than a family outing. The price is £37.50 per adult, and since it's part of a run that goes on until 23 December, you've got a good few weeks to pick a date that works for you.
